About The Author : Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an author and freedom fighter. He was born in 1869, in a merchant caste household in Gujarat. He began his nonviolent civil disobedience movement in South Africa, as an expatriate lawyer. After returning to India, Gandhi soon started nationwide campaigns, geared towards Swaraj or self-rule. He was assassinated on 30th January, 1948. Some of Gandhi's literary works include Third Class in Indian Railways, Indian Home Rule and India of My Dreams.
